10 Platoon Herrick update

Hello to all 10 Platoon family and friends. For those who I haven’t already met I’m Dan Moran, 10 Platoon Sergeant.

I’ve been doing this job now since just before we deployed to BATUS in Canada last June and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. The lads did a lot of hard training in a fairly short period of time before deploying out here and I can now honestly say it has stood us in good stead. The lads have already done themselves and the company proud on a number of occasions fighting the Taliban.

Morale at the moment is goo,d which is normally the case in 10 platoon as we’ve got a cracking set of lads who look after each other. Also R&R is coming around thick and fast so the blokes are loving it.
We’ve just past the half way mark on the tour and now  it’s mine and the Platoon Commanders job to make sure the lads stay focused for the remainder.

Since coming out here a lot of the men have impressed us with there attitude and work ethic in this challenging environment and we’ll be looking to push these lads onto the next promotion cadre.
All in all the lads are working very well together and moral is high, lets hope the next 3 months go as quick as the first 3 months…and please keep the parcels coming!

Hopefully see you all at the welcome home parade,

Sgt Dan Moran.
